Ideas to decorate your terrace or balcony with DIY projects

What a wonderful sun! Right now I'm preparing my terrace for the arrival of summer and I have a lot of ideas that I want to share with you. Are you signing up? They are DIY projects (do it yourself), some simpler, others a little more elaborate, that combine recycled or reused materials with new ones, for which it has helped me great in the new GARDEN catalog that you can see by clicking here.

It's wonderful to inspire us and find those details that make a difference and show our personality, right? Every terrace, every patio, every balcony decorated with DIY projects is unique because each of us put there a piece of our heart. And rightly so! In those unique corners is where we will spend magical moments of enjoyment and relaxation with our loved ones. Therefore, it is worth giving them special attention and a care that makes them different. Come with me and be inspired!

AN OUTDOOR LIVING ROOM ON THE TERRACE

If you are lucky enough to have a large space, my recommendation is that you dare to create your own furniture. How? With pallets! They look great and you can adapt them to any style: leave them with their natural color, only varnished and you will have a rustic style; Paint them grey and you'll have a much more modern style. In addition, you can combine it with a sunshade to avoid the heat of the day and protect yourself from moisture at night.

To make the sofas yourself, choose pallets, remove and barn them or paint them to taste. Then, stack them to the height you want and join them together to maintain a structure. However, you can leave some modules loose so you can adapt and change them in case you have guests. Isn't that great? Choose some cushions to make them more comfortable and ready. You can also make a coffee table in conjunction with your sofas and even side tables that make corners in turn. Your terrace will be the envy of your visitors!

If finding pallets is complicated, don't worry! Take a look at Jaype's catalog, where you'll find garden furniture as well as sunshades and cushions that you can combine to create your ideal space. Don't miss it!

YOUR BALCONY: A CORNER WITH ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES

Maybe you think your balcony is too small and you can't do anything with it. Nothing further from reality! Look: you can prepare a small sofa in a corner, adorned with cushions and fabrics in light and neutral colors, and use an old wooden fruit box to make it your side table.

If you still have plenty of space, you can get a folding table set and wooden chairs, which you can make more comfortable with cushions that match the colors of your sofa. Thus, in the same space, you have two different but harmonious environments, making your "small balcony" no longer be so small and becomes a super useful part of your home. That's great!

FLOORS WITH PERSONALITY

It may seem silly to you, but it's not silly at all: a floor that gives warmth and integrates into your design can be the touch your terrace or balcony needed. And it's as easy as placing wooden tiles or tiles on the floor, trying to draw a drawing that combines the orientation of the slats vertically and horizontally.

The trick is to combine it with another element, such as artificial turf or volcanic stones, that will frame the soil, giving a super professional result to your DIY external project. In addition, these tiles can also be put on the wall and have a front combined with the floor, which can serve you as a small vertical garden. But I'm talking about plants now. Look, look!

BRING LIFE WITH PLANTS AND FLOWERS

Green and plants give color of any terrace. They're life and they're joy, so they can't be missing in your outer corner. You have already seen how you can make a small vertical garden, but if you have managed to get hold of a pallet I propose another idea: paint it and place it standing, as a shelf, to put on it several floors. It looks super nice! And, also, a small trick: paint the pallet in a neutral and cold color, and make the colors of the flowers combine with each other. Contrast is the key!

For my part, I'm in love with the wooden planters. Don't you? I love its romantic air, both in its natural color and painted white or other color. If you want to make them yourself, you can reuse old wooden fruit boxes or make them with wooden slats, but this time I have chosen to buy the ones I found in Jaype. They have several models and sizes, all ready with geotextile to put plants inside. So I have focused on customizing them and leaving them to my liking, combining with the rest of my terrace. What do you think?

Another option I love are the vertical gardens. In very little space you have a green window that gives freshness and brightens any wall or wall. It's amazing what a little grass can do!

PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY IN STYLE

Isn't your balcony very private? Is your terrace very close to your neighbor or the street? No problem! Take advantage to give intimacy to your space without losing style for a second. Choose a pipe that enhances the other elements of your design: light color for wood tones, dark for more modernist combinations. The cane, wicker and heather are elements that can give a romantic touch to your balcony while protecting you from prying eyes.

You can also opt for a wooden fence, which will give warmth to your terrace and a very elegant finish; or opt for a lattice, fresh and daring, that you can combine with vine plants that weaving it with flowers. I'm sure the result is spectacular!

DETAILS MAKE A DIFFERENCE

You know, we know it: in the details is where we can find the essence of the one who has decorated a space, right? Fabrics, pots, cushions... All of this will help make that space unique, be your space. But there is one element that at night can make even more difference: the lights. A beautiful combination of lights can change the atmosphere of an entire garden and turn the smallest of balconies into a romantic space. Don't underestimate his power!

I'm proposing two alternatives. The first one you can make yourself: get several cans about 10 centimeters in diameter and remove the stickers to show their original color. Mark on them different drawings and cenefas, those you want, the ones that you like the most. Then, with a punch, go holilling the outline of these drawings, so that there are intermittent lines left and that when you put inside a light (it can be a candle or an LED bulb) you will see your designs in negative. It will be unique! If, you also want to hang them, you just need to add a wire handle, making two small holes in the top.

My second option is with glass canisters: hang them from a rope and roll around it a strip of flexible LED lights, causing some of the lights to fall into the boats. The effect is beautiful!

What did you think of my ideas? Combine them with each other for a much better result that reflects your personality. I'm sure you'll succeed! Remember that you can find everything you need for your terrace, garden or balcony in the new Jaype catalog, which you can download by clicking here.

Now I'm going to prepare a snack to enjoy my renovated terrace. I'm excited to release it!
